Artificial intelligence could help save our planet. A new position paper shows how artificial intelligence can support the fight against climate change – from smart agriculture to renewable energies.
The recently published position paper “AI for Climate Protection – Applications and Principles in International Cooperation” highlights key application examples. It was developed by FAIR Forward, the Data Service Centre and GIZ’s Global Carbon Market Project. It presents AI-supported solutions in agriculture, forest protection, disaster management and renewable energies.
In addition to practical applications, the publication deals with reducing the carbon footprint of AI, bridging the digital divide and reducing distortions in climate data.
