Have you ever wondered how to mitigate human rights risks in digital project activities? Digital technologies have become a key tool in our everyday work to promote sustainable development goals. Yet, digitalization is a double-edged sword. It can foster human rights, but also enable mass surveillance, violate the right to privacy, or incite online and offline violence. Together with the Danish Institute for Human Rights, GIZ has developed the Digital Rights Check. It is a hands-on and user-friendly open web-tool that helps development cooperation practitioners to better understand potential human rights risks and how to tackle them.
